Subject: Re: Do we need to implement HSM

Hi - Not sure who your source was but they got it wrong. DMS/OS and
all of the name changes under Sterling Software and now CA
Technologies is still very much alive. It's now called CA Disk Backup
& Recover for MVS. We have two other platforms - Unix and MSP that
are less robust but the MVS version is still going strong.

Marjorie:

My friend say he was beta testing the PC version when Sterling went away. I
think somehow what I wrote was incorrect or was not clear.
I did not mean to say DMS was dead . I know it went to CA (along with the
developer(s)) .

I guess my point is/was that since then DMS has gone through a change and not
too many people (that I know of) have the product.

Way back when (not sure exactly when) DMS acronym was used for some CICS(???)
product a screen drawing product(?) IIRC.
I always wondered why they picked that name (shades of USS).
