I too, hate to see someone leave due to a high level of noise on the list. Most e-mail clients allow you to set criteria or rules to send certain mail straight to the trash. If there are topics or posters you are not interesting in seeing, send that to the trash and keep participating in what is relevant to you. I've done just that and it's amazing how much the noise level have dropped the last few days.
