Hi, With regard to:
"I have few files in my desktop to FTP it to mainframe. When i type FTP XXXXXXX from the dos i get a message as C:\Documents and Settings\255209\JCL>ftp 10.237.5.102 Connected to 10.237.5.102. 220-FTPD1 IBM FTP CS V1R6 at xxx2800, 09:42:34 on 2011-05-05 220 Connection will close if idle for more than 5 minutes. Connection closed by remote host." There should be additional messages somewhere, probably on the SYSLOG. For FTP to work, the user needs an OMVS segment attached to their RACF Profile so this may be an issue. If the files are small text files, then the TN3270 Emulator transfer option may be an alternative to FTP, as it does not need the OMVS Segment. I have also encountered this particular situation when transmitting non-text files, and to overcome this I have tried the transmission with the binary option set. I hope this helps, but there may be better advice yet to come.
