Interesting observation. There are three references to
a "message SCRIPT file" all within three paragraphs on
one page, and then no more references in the whole doc.

But if you do a search on just "script file" you find a
few more occurrences. My guess is that they mean the
"message source file" and that "script file" is a holdover
from the VM/CMS side of the house. Just a guess.

But, an opportunity...

Our three day course "Using LE Services in z/OS" includes
lecture and labs for creating messages:

* create a message tag file
* run through ceebldtx to get Assembler source
* Assemble and bind this source
* create a message module table
* Assemble and bind the table
* use user-created messages in later labs

We even supply a simple job to simplfy the first five steps
above.

Along with a lot of other stuff, of course

for details

check out http://www.trainersfriend.com/ROI/roi.html to

out and teach the class at your site.

Alternatively, you will find a thorough discussion and
examples (including the simple job mentioned above) of
creating and using messages in the contents of our LE
Toolkit; for more information, start at

and follow the links about toolkits.
