In the past 5 years I have converted from as far back as MVS/XA, and I know we still have over 20 clients that are (still) running OS/390. Our job is to make it so that if they want to run what they have, and are happy with it, that it will continue to work. In most cases there are really compelling reasons why they cannot move from their "current" level. Sometimes it's because of a piece of hardware and sometimes it's because of a software package.
There are only 3 that I know of that are still running "production" on OS/390, the rest are just running specific processes. That doesn't mean that there aren't any more, just that they aren't customers of ours.
