There is no explicite switch like "DUMP LOGICAL" or "DUMP PHYSICAL".
However other parameters determina kind of DUMP.
BTW: AFAIK FDR always make physical dump but restore can be physical or
logical. And that's why FDR is faster for logical processing.

I'm sure there are other differences but for my understanding this is the
basic one. I had a colleague who was handed a bunch of tapes and asked to
restore some old files. Recovery went well until he realized he had a physical
backup from an old 9345 DASD volume.
