If you're using the nvidia driver, please set KernelDriver=nvidia as the setting is not properly working in 3.0 (fixed in https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bumblebee/commit/c7319f6c3eb5b4636fa525e5379ab3979d426d96 )
For the nouveau driver you need a fairly new version of the xorg driver and kernel which is definitely not shipped in Squeeze (squeeze-backports is still old) Now, can you attach /var/log/Xorg.8.log? I'm purely guessing now as there could be multiple reasons. Have a look at dmesg as well, maybe it reveals some errors on the driver.
