Hello, Today i installed ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop, i have been messing around trying to get the hybrid cards working, i have installed the open source drivers after trying the latest ATI (binary) driver which resulted in ubuntu falling back to safe graphics and X failing to configure.
I'm not sure if what i've done has had any effect, the only sign i can tell that something has changed is that there is a lot less heat coming from the vent and the fans aren't out of control on the system anymore. how can i check what card i am currently using? i'd like to help where i can with this project.
