Hi people my testing with acpicall module method
System: Vostro 3700 Version: A10 Basically a core i5-460m with a nvidia gt330m. If xorg.conf is present, the machine does not boot. when absent i believe it boots using the integrated card. so using test_off.sh \_SB.PCI0.P0P1.PEGP._OFF: works! when i checked with on battery power, this seems to indicate that the discrete card is switched of. (discharge rate in mA went from about 2500mA to 1700mA) but I am really not sure how this can help me boot and use the discrete card only in ubuntu. vga_switcheroo method i have not tried yet :( Eshwar
