That is why I am reading the preamble. To remind the governments, police, courts and citizens - The Indian Constitution grants all citizens the right to life, liberty of thought and the right to assemble and protest peacefully. I condemn the arrest of students and all others involved in peaceful protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. *WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA,* having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a *SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC* and to secure to all its citizens: *JUSTICE*, social, economic and political;* LIBERTY* of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship; *EQUALITY* of status and of opportunity; and to promote among them all *FRATERNITY* assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation; *IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY* this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do *HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION* -- Peoples Media Advocacy & Resource Centre- PMARC has been initiated with the support from group of senior journalists, social activists, academics and intellectuals from Dalit and civil society to advocate and facilitate Dalits issues in the mainstream media.
