Vrinda grover on FB Just heard from film maker Ajay Tg <https://www.facebook.com/bhilaiwala>, that Dr.Saibal Jana has been granted bail by the Durg Court. It is shameful that Dr.Jana was arrested in the case relating to 1992 police firing in which 17 workers were killed when the police opened fire on a rail roko protest by Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha, in Bhilai. Of course no one was ever held responsible for the death of these 17 persons. Instead the legal machinery pursues over decades those who fall foul of the law in the course of exercising their fundamental rights and civil liberties. This protest was held by CMM to highlight the plight of dismissed and contract workers, when the state and industrialists of Bhilai were adamant on not having any talks or negotiations with CMM affiliated unions. This was a year after the assassination of Shankar Guha Niyogi.
