The memorandum appeals to the President of India to lend his voice to the call for justice. Specifically, it appeals for the President's intervention to ensure the submission of the report of the Justice Amir Das Commission which had been set up after the Bathe massacre to enquire into the political linkages behind the Ranveer Sena, but which had been wound up in 2005 just before it was to submit its report. * *Friends, * *The survivors of the Ranveer Sena massacres continue their courageous struggle for justice, resisting intimidation by those enjoying social, economic and political power. They are challenging the outrageous acquittals by the Patna HC in the Supreme Court.* *We appeal to all people, and democratic organisations, to join the Jan Sunwai to hear them narrate their struggles, and to raise your voice in solidarity with them. * *The media in India have a very big responsibility in awakening people to issues and struggles. Till now, although some journalists have done sterling work in this regard, the shocking denial of justice to Bathani Tola and Laxmanpur Bathe is yet to receive the kind of attention it deserves in the media. We especially appeal to the media to take this occasion to ensure that the voices of the massacre survivors for justice is heard all over the country. * *In solidarity, * *Kavita Krishnan, * *for CPI(ML) * *Contact Nos: 9560756628, 9968085975 * -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "humanrights movement" group.
