The purpose of the ‘Gorrepati Narendranath Memorial Fellowship' is to
support activists and/or activist-researchers who are working in areas of
dalit and human rights,land reforms and/or agriculture – the three main
focus areas of Narendranath’s work, built on foundations of non-violent
democratic resistance.

The Fellowship will carry a one-time award of Rs. 1 lakh which will be
released in 2 installments over a year. One Fellowship will be granted
every year.

GNMF for 2011 was awarded to Mr. M. Nagaraja, a rural Dalit journalist
based near Tirupati, for his contribution to covering extensively Dalit and
agricultural issues in print media.


Applications for the fellowship will be accepted from July 1st to August 20
th every year.

The applications will be reviewed by the Steering Committee members of the
GNMF consisting of members like Sri. Harsh Mander (Founder, Aman Biradari,
Director-CES), Sri. P. Chennaiah (APVVU) and Sri. Jeevan Kumar (Human
Rights Forum), Ms. Samyuktha.
