Nation wide action against Illegal arrest of Muslim Youth on emergency day 25th
june

Dear Friend,

In the name of 'fight against terrorism', the State has been resorting to
ILLEGAL ARREST OF YOUTH, mostly Muslim. To invite attention towards this
menace, social activist Mr. Faisal Khan sat on a three days' fast in
November 2011. On the same issue, in January 2012, he observed 100
hours' fast; and people from 15 states observed 12 hours' fast in
solidarity. A petition raising the issue of violation of D.K. BASU
Guidelines was filed with the National Human Rights Commission.

Recently, to create mass awareness on the issue, a Yatra (SAFAR-E INSAF-O
BHAICHARA) from Batla House, New Delhi, to Mecca Masjid, Hyderabad, was
organised; it covered 10 states and over 5000km. A general call was
issued to all Civil rights' groups and social activists to join this
campaign. In Hyderabad, noted social activist Dr. Sandeep Pandey and social
activist Faisal Khan will interact with the victims’ families.

To emphasise
that the arbitrary and unlawful arrest of Muslim youth is reminiscent of the
internal emergency declared in 1975 – June 25 has been chosen to
organise the following events

1.       Interaction with victims’ families in other places.
2.      Observance of fast at more than 25 places across the country.
3.     Send post cards to Hon’ble Prime Minister raising following demands.

A.  Rehabilitation of all those acquitted in terror cases.
b. Govt. should Direct the Judicial system to conduct speedy trial on the
People who arrest in these cases.
c. Govt. should constitute a commission comprising civil society members and
govt. representation to
investigate the episodes  of “ Illegal” arrest on the name of terrorism .
d. Government should Punish the Officials who involved in Illegal Arrest of
Youths and did Fake Encounters.
