The Editor *25th April, 2011* *Condemning the illegal detention and Police harassment of the * *Yatra from Tarapur to Jaitapur*** Sir/ Madam Several Citizens’ Groups, Mass and Peoples’ Organisations like *INSAF, PUCL, Jan Hastakshep, AISA* and others had organized a protest Demonstration in front of the Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi, condemning the illegal detention and Police Harassment of the Yatris in the National Anti- Nuclear Yatra. The national Anti Nuclear Yatra, Tarapur to Jaitapur, 23-25 April 2011 started in Tarapur, on 23rd Morning. About 150 eminent Scientists, Academicians, Intellectuals and Activists from all over India are participating in this Yatra. Anti Nuclear activists from existing and proposed nuclear plant areas and Uranium mining areas are also participating in this first of its kind anti-nuclear struggle in the history if this country. After the meeting at Tarapur, the first Nuclear Power Project in India, in the morning of 23rd April, 2011, the Maharashtra Police detained 100 participants of the Yatra going towards the Largest Proposed Nuclear Power Park at Jaitapur, for 7 hours at the Boisar Police Station. Intention of the Police and the Administration was to stall the Yatra. This is a mere act of violation of Peoples’ Rights of Peaceful, Democratic Protest and to suppress the Citizens’ Voice against Nuclear Power in the Country. This act was clearly made to disrupt the whole schedule of the Yatra. Citizens’ Groups, Mass Organisations and Peoples’ Organisations submitted their Memorandum to the Resident Commissioner of Maharashtra in Delhi in the name of The Chief Minister, Maharashtra demanding :- - *No interruption in the route of the Yatra.* - *To stop the Police and State harassment on the Yatra Participants.* *Chitranjan Singh,* *Gen.
