The Egyptian Uprising Inspires the World

The Arab masses dismissively referred to as the " Arab Street"
by governments in Tunisia , Egypt ,Yemen , Algeria , Jordan among other
governments, are now unstoppable. The one million march in 'Tahrir' square
appropriately named " Liberation" square , is now evolving into 20 million
and more , with several governments in the region teetering from loss of
control , electrifying people all over the world who were in despair ,
exhausted by decades of the domination of inhuman kleptocracies in a global
alliance , stealing the resources , livelihood and labour of millions of
people, fossilizing their tyranny with skillful and Machiavellian political
manipulations and increasing use of Para military and military operations
to control their own citizens in a period of rapidly deteriorating economic
conditions ,the consequence of' Neoliberal' economic policies implemented in
alliance with global capital and its institutions , with run away inflation
worsened by unemployment ,in countries where the majority of people are below
the age of thirty , many without jobs at the threshold of their lives .
A spark has been lit by the peoples of the Arab world which refuses
to be extinguished , as it emerges from the smoldering embers of struggles
which have seen millions without livelihood who have been silenced , tortured
and killed .The Arab people have suffered doubly for over half a century and
more from the brutality of many of their own governments and the never
ending criminal expansion of colonial settlers and military occupiers in
the region ,resorting to collective and brutal killings of the Arab men,
women and children , among other peoples, using the most satanic weapon
systems known to mankind , with Arab blood flowing endlessly not metered just
as the Arab oil transported .
A cry of liberation has now arisen from these blood stained sands of the
Arab homelands , where many have been buried alive in Arab sand , like the
Iraqi soldiers in 1991 , like the Palestinian people, even those who held
aloft the white flag of surrender . The events are a direct consequence of the
overt and covert collaboration with foreign capital by governments in the
region , betraying continuously the Arab people, denying their right to
livelihood , even from out of the overwhelming oil and gas resources of the
region , which has enriched the rulers of the Arab world while leaving
millions in the region without employment and social security.
There have been questions raised on the nature and character of this
uprising which is not only confined to Egypt and Tunisia, but has spread
across the region and shaken many governments .Even though these are only the
first few days of tumultuous developments and changes in the region , which
will be defining moments in contemporary history , it was already clear to
perceptive political observers from the developments in the period preceding
the uprising , that there were serious stirrings of wider consciousness
among the broad masses of the working people as distinguished from others .
To-day it is clear that this Arab revolt is not led by a narrow
intelligentsia from the homes of the privileged or by any religious based
organization ,which was honestly admitted to by representatives of the
Muslim Brotherhood who were not in the forefront of the struggle of the
Egyptian people. The uprising is a genuine revolt of the Arab masses , of the
youth , of men and women , of working people in organized and unorganized
occupations and work places ,in urban and rural regions , with a vision for the
economic and political emancipation of the hitherto dictatorial comprador
Arab political systems and societies based on class , privilege and official
patronage . Societies which are in actual fact 'kleptocracies' of a
fossilized and degenerate oligarchy stealing resources of their people ,
revealed by the stacks of wealth, gold and jewels being transported abroad and
the assets of members of those governments under siege . These highly corrupt
and dictatorial systems were kept in place through military power or through
police states in collaboration with dominant powers militarily controlling
the region , who sought continued control and use of the resources of the
region just as in the period of colonization.
In the days , weeks , months and years ahead, the tumultuous uprising
of the Arab people , this rewriting of history in a long suppressed region ,
will be a catalyst for people against repressive governments across
continents, in particular in Europe and Asia .In centuries past whenever an
awakening has taken place in the Arab World whether intellectual, political or
religious, it has always impacted or revived neighbouring regions and even
the world beyond ; revitalizing those interacting with Arab intellectual
thought , renewing their energies and hopes revitalizing civilization.
The irony is that the 21st Century was written off as the ' End
of History'. The dominant economic and political systems were here to stay as
per the illusions of Western ideologues among other Neocons and Western
Liberals and those who rallied to their cause, mesmerizing themselves that the
world would never change as there were no political forces on the horizon to
challenge arbitrary systems;many political and religious movements and
communist parties had been co-opted to control the masses and to perpetuate the
belief that might was right.Whereas the Arab uprising is a moment of truth
, a reflection of the growing rebellion against unjust political and economic
systems against arbitrary and cruel governments taking away the right to
livelihood and even the right of dissent .
