Solved!
This message may help mac users facing the same problem.
Phillip sent me a built of the last version he made, and it was impossible
to run on my macbook pro (chip M2 max, MacOS 14.4.1). The error message was:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<report version="1.0" kind="exception">
  <system description="macOS Version 14.4 (assemblage 23E214)"/>
  <stack>

    <frame level="4"
function="HuginBase::Color::detail::GetMonitorProfile(wxString&,
void*&)" offset="0" address="0x10f96c858"/>
    <frame level="5"
function="HuginBase::Color::GetMonitorProfile(wxString&, void*&)"

    <frame level="8" function="wxEntry(int&, wchar_t**)" offset="0"

    <frame level="10" function="start" offset="0" address="0x2053a4366"/>
  </stack>
</report>

It appears that "GetMonitorProfile" was the cause of the exception.

Changing my display profile from "Apple display P3-1600nits" to "Apple
display P3-500nits" fixed everything!

Thanks Phillip.
