It works fine here. Just some points to check:
* Does the log print any error messages concerning exiftool?
* Can you run exiftool in the hugin folder from the command line? (Maybe 
some anti virus scanner are blocking exiftool?)
* What image format and with which program do you check that nothing is 
copied? Not all program support EXIF/XMP in all formats.
