New problem:

I have a two-photo vertical panorama of a building (with a neat bunch of 
sculptures at the top), and despite indicating the entire sides of the 
buildings in each photo of the same lines - bottom to top - the building 
suddenly becomes wider  on each side.

I have done further attempts, by extending the lines as far as possible, 
but the only thing that changes is that the discontinuity became almost at 
the same level on each side of the building.

Any hints you can give would be greatly appreciated...
