Hi Marco, If you change the default 'panorama' (the stitched image from the map components) size from 3000 to any other value the error will change, as it is based on this 3000 pixels size. Don't fear this effect, it won't change your result. If your partial maps are screenshots, why do you think there will be exposure variations from one image to another? Did you change the screen brightness, or used more than one single computer?
If you adapt the flat scanned images tutorial ( http://hugin.sourceforge.net/tutorials/scans/) to your case -- e.g. roll probably is 0 for all images -- you are in the right direction :) Good luck!
