They should be installed in icons/hicolor/48x48/apps and so on. I forgot
the hicolor level. See
https://specifications.freedesktop.org/icon-theme-spec/icon-theme-spec-latest.html
for the spec.
This should be fixed now in the repository.
Additionally, it install now also smaller versions of the icons (16x16 and
32x32) in the corresponding directories. Hopefully this fixes the issue for
Cinnamon.
