Hi First, my congratulations to HP for this project. I am currently trying to decide which MFP I should buy for my home office. I was initially drawn towards the Canon Pixma MP960. However, given that I use Linux, as soon as I read the comments at http://www.freestandards.org/en/OpenPrinting/Database/SuggestedPrinters#Color_Inkjets , I started looking at HP's models. Having briefly reviewed the range, it seems that the model for me is probably the C7180. I have one question:
None of the five C*180 models documented at http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/au/en/ho/WF02a/1090037-1090149-7369137.html (which appears to be the current range) is actually listed as supported at http://hplip.sourceforge.net/supported_devices/combined.html. http://openprinting.org/printer_list.cgi?make=HP shows just the C3180. My impression is that there is no issue and that the pages have just not been updated yet. Probably C7100, for example, covers the entire C71** series. Could you please confirm this? As an aside, I am currently using Ubuntu 6.10 / hplip 1.6.9. Many thanks for your help. Regards Kevin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
