I talked to Jason briefly,

The 6 months / 1 year plan for feature pack is to allow from the feature pack 
tool to create two outputs instead of one:

- the actual full Wildfly that contains what you define as feature pack (that’s 
existing)
- a zip that contains an “add-on” that can be added to a given Wildfly install 
by a user by unzipping it on top of the initial Wildfly install

You can do 2. yourself but but the tool could do it a bit more systematically 
for you.

There are longer terms yum like plans and transitive dependencies logic but 
they are unlikely to be executed in the short term.
