Wrt running in eclipse most likely the errors are related to "expected failures" which our junit extensions handle automatically when run from the build. In IntelliJ I enable that as well so that I do not see the "false negatives". There is a system property you need to set in order for that to happen: 'hibernate.test.validatefailureexpected'. Set it to true.
