My guess is that you're pulling in your extensions with git
submodules, which we don't currently support. If you see any output
from:

    $ find . -mindepth 2 -name .git

then you've got 'em. There's a workaround in the docs, here:
http://docs.heroku.com/constraints#git-submodules
