Don't worry, they'll be an announcement when 2.1 (or any major upgrade) is available. In most cases this will probably be shortly after the official release, once we've had a chance to test it thoroughly and do whatever is necessary to make sure it works seamlessly with Heroku. As I mentioned after the last upgrade, 2.0 will be supported for the forseeable future, even though 2.1 looks to be a non-compatibility breaking release.
