Your attachment was in RTF format. You should use plain text files and attachments and use a text editor, not a word processor, to do your work with programming: do not cut and paste text into MS Word or other word processors: this is why your emails are getting formatted incorrectly. Your attachment said: > GNU Make version 3.75, by Richard Stallman and Roland McGrath. It's simply not true that this is the version of GNU make provided with Ubuntu 14.04. In fact, I'd venture to say that there's never been a single version of Ubuntu ever shipped that used this version of GNU make: 3.75 was released almost 20 years ago, in 1996; by the time the first Ubuntu release was shipped, Ubuntu 4.10 in 2004, the common version of GNU make was 3.80. If you have GNU make 3.75 installed on your system it must be part of some other toolkit you installed that comes with its own (very old) version of GNU make, and not part of the Ubuntu distribution. _______________________________________________ Help-make mailing list Help-make@gnu.org https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/help-make
