Hi,

I would like to check my config.scm file after I made some changes.
How can I do that?

1.
in my German manual (probably an older version) it says to run:

guix system vm /etc/config.scm

so that a file
e.g. /gnu/store/4nl3xkmbpy1h3lwxvj9b54n24xkq1q0k-run-vm.sh
is created
which would open a vm to check my config.scm

when doing a
guix system vm /etc/config.scm
it updated my config.scm
but did not open a vm.
Do I have to configure my vm somehow for that?

I have already configured a vm and can run Trisquel on it.

2.
in the english manual it says
I have to:

The normal way to change the system configuration is by updating this file and re-running guix system reconfigure.

I did this already.

3.
How can I put my config.scm under version control, and how to check the versions?

Note: We recommend that you keep this my-system-config.scm file safe and under version control to easily track changes to your configuration.

thanks

Gottfried
