May I ask to look whether the Stripe configuration could be tweaked a little? I am trying to contribute from a country with temporarily restricted cross-border money transfers. However, my bank says that my attempts are classified as such. I do not know what exactly needs to be changed to have the transactions reported correctly. Could it be the merchant category code (MCC), the merchant description, the transaction type, the transaction description, or something else? There appears to be the MCC 4829 for money transfers, but I doubt that it is the one which is used. Per the Stripe documentation, if the MCC is not configured, they apply some heuristics to attempt to identify the MCC automatically, excluding some MCCs, and otherwise fallback to the MCC 5734, which is for computer software stores. I would not expect that one to cause me troubles, however. For comparison, the FSF membership fees show up in my transaction history as "POS Purchase [number] Free Software Foundation - [number] - US" and is categorized by my bank in a way which implies the MCC 8398. However, they do not use Stripe. Thank you! Roman
