Hi! One of our goals for this year has been to encourage more Guix users to help out reviewing patches. There are lots of patches in the bug-tracker, and it would be great to get them into the project. Reviewing helps because it confirms that a patch applies, works and makes sure that the patch meets the projects quality guidelines. Doing reviews reduces the workload on our busy committers!
If you have some development skills (e.g. git; using make), and want to build up familiarity with Guix development this is a great starting place. We do regular online patch review groups. But, sometimes it's nice to learn in a smaller setting. So I thought I'd offer to do some one-to-one sessions. If you're interested drop me a line and we can organise a time. If you've never done this before, have a read through the Wiki page and see if it sounds like something you'd be excited and able to do with some support: https://libreplanet.org/wiki?title=Group:Guix/PatchReviewSessions2024 If you're interested in doing a 1to1 session we'd organise a Jitsi meet and then share screen and work our way through how to do them. This is a complete experiment, I have no idea how it will go, but it might be fun! Thanks, Steve / Futurile
