Could it be caused by the same GTK bug I reported here [0] ? It was triggered by using ibus as an input system, since you might be using as well to type in Japanese? In my case I could more around it by unsetting the GTK_IM_MODULE variable. Maxim [0] http://issues.guix.info/issue/33958
