Hello Guix!

We’re happy to announce the Guix-HPC effort between Inria, the Max
Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC), and the Utrecht
Bioinformatics Center (UBC):

  https://gnu.org/software/guix/news/announcing-guix-hpc.html

As you know Ricardo has been deploying Guix and contributing to it as
part of his position at the MDC, and so have been doing Roel Janssen and
Pjotr Prins in Utrecht. Since a couple of months I’m also able to work
on Guix in an HPC context at Inria.

I think it’s a good opportunity to show how some of the nice properties
of Guix make it a good candidate for software deployment on clusters and
as a building block for reproducible scientific workflows. There are
lots of nice things to do, many of which will be beneficial not just for
HPC but also for regular usage—going from remote daemon access, to
“channels”, and to packaging.

If you’re interested in Guix for HPC and reproducible science, please
get in touch with us at guix-...@gnu.org, and let’s see what we can do!

Ludo’.
