1: It have been done and isn't very helpful :) (it's why i'm here!) 2: you're right, but i just posted some "quickly revisied extract" of code to only explain my trouble, not the whole code. It's why some "things" are "dirty". On the other way, i'm free to use the syntax that i prefer/want :) 3: perhaps, but for better clarity and avoid change in default behavior i always specified what i want (best practice) I'm agree with you, executing commands will never be convergent, filexist isn't enought too (it doesn't ensure that is a device). For me, cfengine has a lack in *nix device management.
