I guess what I miss is such a feature combined with the expand_template behavior... You need to state your requirement clearly and succinctly because a couple of messages ago you stated But let's say you don't want/need to iterate sections but only to verbatim copy the whole file with some variables expansions. Now you say you do want sections. Which is it? You can have variables within blocks.
