Forum: CFEngine Help Subject: How can I auto-restart cf-execd on update ? Author: loopx Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,26491,26491#msg-26491
Hi, I'm running Cfengine 3.3.0 on RHEL6 for a new project. Now, I got a running Cfengine policy server and one node : it's working fine ... but I have a little important question : how should I do to update the "cf-execd" ??? The problem is when I update the "body executor control", no change is done on the currently running "cf-execd" and so, we will have to restart it manually ; this is not cool and will implies some "mistakes" if we forgot to do the restart. How can I do that ? Is it a good idea to "restart" (all 3 processes cf-*) at every policy upgrade (class=update_report .. not yet validated ...) ? The big problem is ... if I make cf-execd to restart after "update_report" class, no validation has yet occur (on the policy server) and then, no more failsafe ? No more update ? This seems to be dangerous .. what do you think ? _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
