Hi, I've ordered this book a couple of weeks ago and start to review it, to see if my team would learn from it. I really have mixed feelings about this book.. some parts are really well thought and explains correctly, while some others make me want to remove my eyes to prevent me from reading more from this book. I don't know if it the reviewer who edited too much and added some error, or if some part where lately added without any review, but there are code snipets that are simply wrong, and the explanation which seems related to others codes. The most annoying part is the non-consistent indentation of code examples, explanations and function description, along with the very common layout problems. I still have to download from the web site the example to see if they reflect the content of the book, and I intend to write to the editor to have him correct the most obvious. Without theses corrections, the book might trigger some hair pulling to beginners (and eyes bleeding to advanced users). But I will still recommend that book to my team, with the corrections I added in it, because some explanation are really fine, and it will definitively help understanding the syntax (but unfortunately not the convergence concept) Regards Nicolas _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
