Not sure what you mean about expireafter not working - I suppose it
depends on what your expectations are. This should cause CFEngine to
kill an existing process that has hung and try again. Alas, if the basic
promise is "not keepable" then this will not help you.
The bug report proposes a modification to the standard library to calm
the package manager. You can try this and report on that bug tracker
whether it works for you...? Ultimately I think these package managers
are incorrectly designed if they have to rely on manual input from a
user. But I suppose that's the world we live in...
