Hello all,

I just noticed that on solaris/intel systems, there is no "solaris" built-in
hard/soft class. By definition, "solaris" is a unix operating system developed
by Sun Microsystems and is not specific to either the sparc or the intel
architecture.

Given cfengine already has other built-in classes for cpu/arch (ie i386,
x86), why the distinction here specific to Solaris? I don't see this in the
case of Linux systems, which is nice. Given Linux runs on IBM Power as well as
Intel, there is still a single class "linux" that is non-architecture defined
to both cpus, and if coders need a distinction based on cpu/arch, there are
classes for those already.

In my opinion, the same should hold true for solaris. Cfengine should have a
consistent hard/soft class convention for operating systems that run on
multiple architectures. I would suggest that "solaris" exist as a class
regardless of cpu type.

Thanks,
Jim Amanatidis
