I agree with Dan. You don't give a reason for wanting to use slist or needing the same line twice so it is hard to know exactly what you are trying to do. The design of Cfengine is to make it safe and convergent to edit a file and verify it any number of times. That is priority one else your design could blow up with an infinite number of edits.
