What seems a bit odd here is that according to the core dump the name value in BooleanControl() is 0x0, but the function doesn't seem to have bailed out at that first conditional. I'll check that more closely. My promises are just the stock set from the source distribution, I was trying to bootstrap from the cfengine-3.1.5/inputs directory.
