Forum: Cfengine Help Subject: question about editing smb.conf Author: raymondcox Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,22089,22089#msg-22089
Hello, I am trying to edit a Samba configuration file (smb.conf) on a number of RHEL5 machines. I have seen some pretty cool examples of using field_edits combined an array of key value pairs. Because some of the values I wish to change contain spaces, for example allow trusted domains = no etc... I don't think I can use this method. In a situation like this would it be best to use a bunch of replace_patterns statements, or is there some other solution that will allow the key in the key value pair to contain spaces? I had also considered just creating one master copy of smb.conf for each environment and copying it down where appropriate, however I have noticed in the past keeping a static copy of smb.conf sometimes creates more problems when new features of Samba are released. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
