Forum: Cfengine Help Subject: Re: Deploying configuration partially Author: christian.sturm Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,21356,21855#msg-21855
It's me again. Currently we are using cfengine for deploying configuration profiles via Subversion. But although it is against cfengine's concept, every client can decide which configuration has to be loaded. Usually it is: Subversion => CfengineServer=> Client Here we use it like this: Subversion => Client and the client pulls just the installation files from the cfengine server. The big advantage of this procedere is, that every developer can check out the needed configuration. Through this it is possible that different configurations can be checked out quickly and the ceveloper works on a specific configuration, e.g. if a special version of the gcc is needed for a specific project. But this causes one huge problem: If the developer needs different roles, he cannot load two configurations. HAs got anybody an idea how to fix this? One idea was to load empty dummies und replace them if needed. -- Christian Sturm _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
