Strange, however, I wonder if it still waits for the process to finish before cf-agent exits. # cfagent -IK ... -> Executing '/usr/local/ibAdmin/bin/update_cfengine_inventory' ...(timeout=-678,owner=-1,group=-1) -> Completed execution of /usr/local/ibAdmin/bin/update_cfengine_inventory -> Link /var/cfengine3/failsafe/bin/cf-agent as promised after several seconds.... -> Completed execution of /usr/local/ibAdmin/bin/update_cfengine_inventory So I'm guessing cf-agent can not 'fire and forget' in true fashion.
