Jesse, things are rejected with good reasons, as you probably realize. Allowing people to choose the command will just lead to confusion. Unless a specific set of columns are available, the select_process functionality will not work as advertised. It just gives you rope to hang yourself by. The only problem left, is solaris' buggy zone implementation. The -z flag does not work as advertised. There are no useful, portable, standard libraries for process management.
