Thanks for those references, but they don't help AppendIfNoLineMatching I believe used to take a regexp to determine if there was a matching line. Your example just puts the line in if the exact same line isn't there already (as far as I can tell). Also, I thought about input select, but for some reason (at least according to the documentation) it will only work with either a file or a multi-line input (which a shadow password file entry isnt) Also, the setting root password suggestion is only useful for setting a password.
