Forum: Cfengine Help Subject: For communtity edition knowledge map, what needs to be done manually? Author: David Brazzeal Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,19893,19893#msg-19893
I’m looking for the ability to see via a web page what computers have what versions of software installed on them. From what I’m reading, I should be able to do that via a knowledge map I think :) The Cfengine 3 Concept Guide says this: http://www.cfengine.org/manuals/cf3-tutorial.html#What-topic-maps-offer says this: “Commercial enterprise releases of cfengine are capable of automating the documentation of a policy, using basic annotations provided above, as a knowledge map. They require very little effort from the user. If you are using the Community Edition of cfengine, all of the technology is available for use, but you will have to do the work manually. In either case, once you become familiar with the use of Topic Maps, you will want to extend your knowledge manually to incorporate things like:” What work needs to be done manually in the community edition? Would I need to constantly manually create the web pages from reports that I gathered manually from the clients? Thanks! _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
