Subject: For communtity edition knowledge map, what needs to be done manually?

I’m looking for the ability to see via a web page what computers have what 
versions of software installed on them. 
From what I’m reading, I should be able to do that via a knowledge map I think 
:)
 
The Cfengine 3 Concept Guide says this:

familiar with the use of Topic Maps, you will want to extend your knowledge 
manually to incorporate things like:”

What work needs to be done manually in the community edition? Would I need to 
constantly manually create the web pages from reports that I gathered manually 
from the clients?
