Forum: Cfengine Help Subject: Unable to look up hostname Author: trumpsbrah Link to topic: https://cfengine.com/forum/read.php?3,18407,18407#msg-18407
On my cfengine server, I'm getting a bunch of messages like below when clients are connecting every night: Sep 22 10:03:22 sron-chi-nis01 cfservd[657]: Unable to lookup hostname (WORKSTATION1.mydomain.com) or cfengine service: Name or service not known As far as I can tell, this is due to the fact that the client in question, which used to be WORKSTATION1.mydomain.com now has a different hostname with the same ip (192.168.1.150). It is now WORKSTATION2.mydomain.com. DNS is updated correctly, so that WS1 no longer exists and WS2 has WS1's old IP. Also, WS2 works just fine, except that every time the agent runs on that server, my error logs get the error message. Somewhere, cfengine is expecting that ip address to correspond to WS1 and I can't figure out how to purge it from wherever it is in cfengine. Anyone have any ideas? It's running cfengine 2.1.11-1.0, which I know is way out of date, but I'm not in a position to upgrade it. _______________________________________________ Help-cfengine mailing list Help-cfengine@cfengine.org https://cfengine.org/mailman/listinfo/help-cfengine
