Hi all,

I'm still in my documentation and about to start our pilot phase of a
Nova implementation, but I'm thinking about how to handle certain
aspects of managing a Cfengine environment. One thing I would like to be
able to do would be to create an alerting system any time a promise is
repaired. For example, say the policy server is cfpolicy and clients are
cfhostNN. Say cfhost03 detects that /etc/passwd has permissions 600 and
has a promise to keep the permissions at 644. So it repairs the promise
and then, ideally, sends some kind of notification to cfpolicy that a
promise was repaired. Then on cfpolicy, those alerts can be turned into
emails, web page updates, etc. for real-time monitoring of repairs.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Justin
