My notes (from 2018) to get Bison from the repository say: # Getting branch 'maint' from archive: git clone -b maint https://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/bison.git # Then, cf. file README-hacking: cd bison/ git submodule update --init ./bootstrap ./configure make make check
