Dear Luis,
thank you very much for your kind words!

Unfortunately I did not manage to install GNU Health 5.0 until now.

Here is what I tried:

1. loaded down from https://www.gnuhealth.org/downloads/images/ the file GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz into my home folder under Ubuntu 25.04

2. loaded down and read the file https://www.gnuhealth.org/downloads/images/README.txt

2.1.because of "The image is compressed in gzip format. Make sure you uncompress it before importing into virtualbox."
I tried:
edgar@ai-workstation:~$ gunzip GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz
gzip: GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz: not in gzip format
edgar@ai-workstation:~$
and
edgar@ai-workstation:~$ gzip -d GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz
gzip: GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz: not in gzip format
edgar@ai-workstation:~$

2.2. I looked into https://docs.gnuhealth.org/his/userguide/ and https://docs.gnuhealth.org/his/techguide/installation/virtualmachine.html but did not find a solution to this problem except renaming the file to .xz

edgar@ai-workstation:~$ gzip -d GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.xz
gzip: GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.xz: unknown suffix -- ignored
edgar@ai-workstation:~$

2.3. renamed the image back to .gz and tried again to uncompress it

edgar@ai-workstation:~$ gzip -d GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz
gzip: GNUHealth-50-debian12.vdi.gz: not in gzip format
edgar@ai-workstation:~$

3. I quit

All the best
Edgar
